Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I book you for my party?
Book us if you want a DJ to make your party unique and talked about. If you want to connect with music and have memories that will last a life time. Humping heavy equipment around at all times of the day and night is for a love of great music. From pop to punk, rock to ragga; It is also for the love of entertaining a crowd - not with mindless chat, but good quality, uplifting music.

What music do you play?
I don't prepare a “play list”, I like to assess a crowd and then work with them. Depending on their responses to certain music, will determine how I play that night. Our skills working with a crowd have developed & matured over many years, it is not something everyone has and, it certainly can’t be purchased from Ebay!

Like an enthusiastic football manager, I play the guaranteed stars:- Faithless in Goal, The Beatles, Stones & Happy Mondays in Midfield with the Sugarhill Gang in Defence and Kanye & Chaka Khan up front. I would use Moby as the boot cleaner and Beth Ditto as the masseuse, I like a good pummeling!

A typical night would start with some warm up music to get the alcohol moving, this might include some Funk, Salsa, Soul & some classics.(This is where people go "I haven't heard this since my friend......) When your crowd are ready,I will usually start with some Classic Disco, R&B, Bootlegs, Mashups House and “classic tracks”. Depending on the age of the crowd, I will whip in a few Motown, 70’s, 80’s, Brit Pop, Ska and maybe a "sing-song" near the end,I generally try and avoid cheesy howlers however; if that's all your crowd wants to hear, then I will do my best.

Do you play requests?
Depends what you ask for, If it works with the journey that we are on together and I have it, then sure. If you are getting married or having a party, I always ask clients to send me a list of tracks they want to hear, this helps us with the choice of tunes on the night.

What sound & lighting equipment do you use?
I use the best technology for the job. Pioneer CDJ1000 decks & Mixer, Mackie active (amps in the back of the speakers) 2.5KW sound system, Bose console monitoring, and Sure mic. Great big sound in other words.
The lighting includes a Green laser, Big Strobe, Big UV Canon, Smoke; intelligent lighting, Scanners & Martin Wizard. In fact, it is like a mobile nightclub.

What are your charges?
First, I like to speak to a client before I take a booking; I need to find out if I are right for your party. If your crowd likes to dance to “High Ho Silver Lining”and the "Grease Megamix"then I are not right for you. A price will be offered when various information has been supplied. I am more expensive than some, and cheaper than others.

Will you wear a Black Tie?
Sorry, I look like a waiter and feel uncomfortable. I'll wear a Paul Smith suit and Prada pants if that's OK?

Glad the deodrant worked!
