DJ Nigel Peirce biography

Having worked in some capacity or other as a DJ / producer since I was 14,my first “gig” was a street party to celebrate Charles & Di’s wedding, operating between a tape deck and a belt-driven turntable. This joyous occasion was held in the county town of Wiltshire where I continued to operate as a “Mobile Disco” for a number of years. The highlight of my early career was selling the equipment at the end!

I continued DJ’ing when I moved to London. First in the YMCA in Tottenham Court Rd and then over the road to the Virgin Megastore in Oxford Street where I presented a Saturday radio show for 2 years. This was great fun as I could play anything that I liked. Whilst in the employ of the "Richard" dollar, I would also tour the country and compere the opening of the new Virgin Megastores and Games Centres. Being pinned to the wall of the Metro centre in Gateshead by a bunch of screaming teenagers with halitosis whilst interviewing a Gladiator will always stick in my mind. My other London career highlights included, working as a producer at Virgin Radio from its launch with Chris Evans. Producing a monthly segment for Pete Tong’s dance show on Radio 1, Producing and directing TV commercials in Ibiza for Kiss FM. Directing Sean Connery at his house in Marbella with a portable recording studio. I also co-owned and was the managing director of a successful TV & Radio Production Company and recording studios in central London.(www.factory.uk.com) I mixed many big dance compilation albums, including Clubland, Clubmix and all Kiss branded albums. I engineered, mixed & produced one of the first big selling TV advertised mix albums "Disco Mix 96". (devious boys)

After selling my business interests in June 03, I re-located back to the west country to lead a life of peace & love however, this was blown out of the window when I was offered the back-stage residency at Glastonbury festival. Now, I find myself DJ'ing around the South of England playing at fabulous venues to beautiful, lovely people. It seems that life has gone full circle however, it's much better fun this time round.

I try to live in harmony with my surroundings and have many interests away from work including:- my family, photography, books, drinks cabinet & my pet ferret called Tina!!
